10th!

Zoom Agence
It's strange how feelings can go from real down and disappointed to happy again during one day! My first run was strange, it wasn't my normal skiing and all my boost from my turn that makes me fast was breaking under me at the gate. I was slow and I felt a bit lost, didn't really know what happened!

After some thinking together with my team and Fischer I decided to change to a whole other setup for the 2nd run and it felt much better on that soft dead salt snow. I was 3rd fastest in the second run and rose from 24th to 10th. Valuable points and I'm happier! The soft snow is making the races challenging. I chose the right race to suck in the first, the course got slower in the second and I took advantage of that. Though, if it would have been hard conditions I wouldn't have had those exact problems in the first run.. Let's hope it's a bit more normal in the next race!

An EC SG and then heading to Crans Montana.

Andy knows how to enjoy his gym trainings. If I'm to become a true Downhiller, which I won't 'cos GS is my main goal, I should rest more and train less. And start Hans Olsson's SeeFood diet. You see it, you eat it!

I have special company this week! :) My girlfriend is here and my parents and little sister are also coming to Crans Montana. Nice for them finally, they already tried to come to Levi and Val'd'Isere but both we're cancelled!

Tomorrow there's a EC SG race in Sella Nevea, going to be fun. Then we're heading straight to Crans Montana! Let's hope the wind is blowing somewhere else.

Chin up.

Didn't exactly go as planned. The first run was ok. Had some strong winds in the middle but the end was good. 11th. In the second I made a legendary 'Innerskifehle' and that normally isn't the way to be fast. So 24th place and a lot of swearwords. Wasn't happy at all! Not really the fairest conditions to keep a race in, I think there were many unhappy guys yesterday.

This amazing guy decided to continue his career to at least Sochi. I'm going to press him until Vail 2015 though! That's great news, because he and I have a deal and we need both of us to fulfill it.

Bansko

Freeskiing tomorrow on the racehill. Going to be fun. Heard it's icy!

My coaches are also getting ready for the weekend - or is it just for the beach in summer?

Getting ready!

Bansko's coming up this weekend! That means racing again. Jea! Stupid with a 5 week WC GS break... Especially when all the SG races gets cancelled!

We've had some good SG and GS days here in Sella Nevea and Kranjska, even though it was windy like crazy! The surface was amazing in Sella Nevea. I had the nice company of two other Finns, Samu and Eemeli. Two more training days and then to Bansko!

A quick Family reunion!

On my way to the airport, flying back down to München today! Had a few nice days at home with my whole family, last time we had the chance was in the end of summer. We're a bit spread out with my sister and her husband singing in Dubai and my dad in Stockholm. My mom, little sister and girlfriend are the ones I see the most!

It's time for some SG runs in Sella Nevea! Going to be cold so I probably need a Darth Vader mask.. :)

Quality GS in Sella.

Garmisch SG was cancelled, it was a little foggy.. All five SG races I've been planning to start this season have been cancelled! So we drove back to Kotnik in Kranjska and had three super good days of GS training in Sella Nevea! Trained some jumps too in between the GS runs.. :)

There's more pictures at www.andreasromar.com. Andy and I trained together on Monday, long time since we trained together! On Tuesday I had company from our youngsters, Samu Torsti and Eemeli Pirinen and also Tommy Ford!

We had some spare blue color.....

Tomorrow I'm going home! See ya!
