Beautiful Sundown!

It's been nice and warm in Helsinki this week, been sunny for my 'vacation'! I've enjoyed some free time, but today I got the cravings for a good training again so I went for a run and to the gym. Felt good so I guess my vacation served it's point! I want to start training again! I'll still relax this weekend and then the sweaty and tough summer training period starts! Bring it on, I'm Ready!

I put together my Fixie-bike, it was on a paint job during the winter at TN Productions! They did a cool job, made my White Nr.19. I'll post some cooler pics of it later!

Have a fun Vappu!

A short break!

The rest of our camp at Suomu got cancelled. It got too warm and too soft, a shame but not so much we can do about the weather! So I drove back down to Helsinki last night and it got warmer along the way, I'm stoked that spring and summer is on the way. Can't wait for some fishing and nice and sweaty summer days!

Enjoying the evening sun on the new balcony!
I'm going to take two weeks off, letting my mind and body get fresh for the summer training and the next season. I sold my old apartment a month ago and now we have been renovating our new apartment with my girlfriend, so it's perfect timing because most of my time will go to moving there in a few days!

There's good times coming up. Eastern is soon here and the big move to the new place, then Vappu ( Labour Day(?)) with some fun program and otherwise just being able to be at home a bit. Meet good friends and just simply have some fun and live some 'normal' life for a while!

Hear ya!

Winter Activity Day At Suomu!

The weather is pretty challenging at the moment here in Lappland! We’re training in Suomu, skied two days GS and today unfortunately only one run slalom. The coaches are working really hard, without them we’d be at home at the moment. Before every training they’ve been 2 and a half hours throwing salt on the slope, trying to make the snow hard and skiable! A big thanks to them!

Luca playing with the Ski-Doo.
Suomu is a pretty relaxed place. There’s Ski-Doo’s. 4-wheels, snowboards, stigas and pretty much everything available for us to play with. And of course when we have a lot of time on our hands we play a little!  Our coaches tried out the Ski-doos. Andy went snowboarding, Kalle learned his daughter Oda- Sofia to ski and I challenged Joonas on a Stiga race!

Joonas and me too lazy to walk up the hill with the Stigas.

Trying to be as aerodynamic as possible!

Kalle and Oda-Sofia in the lift.

SM-Liigan (Finnish Hockey League) finals kick’s off today between HIFK and Blues! I’ve been following it a little bit more than normally this year, ‘cos HIFK has been playing really well. They’ve got at least 2 big fans rooting for them here at Suomu! En gång IFK, alltid IFK!

Marcus Sandell vaihtoi Fischerille ja Kalle Palander jatkaa Fischerillä

Suomen ykkös alppihiihtäjiin lukeutuva Marcus Sandell on solminut yhteistyösopimuksen Itävaltalaisen FISCHER suksimerkin kanssa. Kaudella 2011|12 Marcus laskee koko FISCHER paketilla: sukset, kengät ja siteet.

Ensimmäinen tulikoe SM-kisoissa
Marcus starttaa uusilla FISCHER -välineillä tänään keskiviikkona Ounasvaaralla pidettävissä pujottelun SM-kisoissa.

Uuden suksimerkin vaihto merkitsee Marcukselle paljon. ”Olen päässyt testaamaan FISCHER kokonaisuutta ja kenkä+suksi yhdistelmä sopii minun laskutyylille erinomaisesti. FISCHER:in avulla minun on mahdollista kehittyä nopeammaksi laskijaksi. Odotukset seuraavaan kauteen ovat korkealla.” Marcus Sandell kertoo.

Marcus jatkaa. FISCHER:in kehittämä uusi Vacuum Fit kenkä innostaa Marcusta: ”Haluan ehdottomasti päästä testaamaan sitä!”

Marcus ei ota paineita uudesta kalustosta ennen ensimmäistä kisaansa: ”FISCHER toimi hyvin heti ekalla testi kerralla ja vakuutti minut. Lähden täysillä kisaan!”

Meno jatkuu
Kalle Palander jatkaa FISCHER suksilla, kengällä ja siteillä. Vuonna 2006 FISCHER:ille siirtynyt Palander on päässyt vahvasti vaikuttamaan kaluston kehitykseen. Myös Kallelle Marcuksen tulo talliin on positiivinen asia. Näin he pystyvät sparraamaan toisiaan ja hyödyntämään samaa huoltomiestä. Kalle aloittaa tulevan kauden treenit huhtikuun puolivälissä.

Merkittävä uutinen Patrolille
Oy Patrol Ab:lle Marcus Sandellin siirtyminen FISCHER:ille Kalle Palanderin, Tanja Poutiaisen ja Sanni Leinosen seuraksi on kunnia-asia. Patrol on tehnyt pitkäjänteisesti työtä Suomalaisen alppihiihdon eteen. Näiden neljän urheilijan mukanaolo FISCHER –tallissa takaa merkille ja Patrolille jatkumon johtavana alppihiihtobrändinä ja tietotaidon tuottajana. Patrol tulee hyödyntämään tämän nelikon mukanaolon tehokkaalla ja kaupallisella tavalla.

Halti Photoshoot!

On Monday I flew up to Kittilä where there was a really cool Audi A7 waiting for Julien Regnier, Alex Fransisquini and me. Our jaws dropped a bit when we turned it on and a tv-screen came up from nowhere and the news popped up! We had a luxurios 2.5h drive waiting for us to Kilpisjärvi for a Halti Photoshoot!

Alex and Julien getting ready for a chopper-ride.
It was my first time at Kilpisjärvi and it is a really beautiful place. The mornings were still very cold, around -25 degrees both days! But it was two sunny and perfect days for filming the next years catalogue! Check it out when it's ready! :)

Our filming lodge in the middle of nowhere! It was amazing how quiet it was, I recommend the place if someone feels the need to get away and relax a bit.

We drove down with Ski-Doos back to the cottages, it was cool to speed down the open Tunturi's , viewing the beautiful scenery at the same time!

Julien and Me had the honor to ski down the Halti Mountain, the highest in Finland with 1 324m! There's a small logbook on the top for all the visitors. We were the 992327th and 992328th visitors, and only two visitors before us were Kalle Palander, Jamo Haarala and Sami Uotila! They were on a Ski-doo adventure in the 'neighborhood'. Skiing down Halti was pretty cool! The Halti crew filmed it from the Helicopter, can't wait to see it.. :)

After all the filming was shot we drove a 500 horsepower V12 Q7 back to Kittilä, the drive didn't take too long... :)
It was a great trip, thanks Halti and the rest of the crew! It's going to be a cool catalogue!

See ya!
